Ivory Pictures was launched by Tony Gaspar in 2006 based on the thought of how expensive weddings can actually be.

 

His interest in photography started when he was 14 years of age, when his dad bought him a second hand film Olympus SLR. The camera had no automatic functions what so ever, and therefore he taught himself to use it. He proceeded to spend the majority of his pocket money on camera film and developing!

 

He then decided to take a city and guilds in Photography at the age of 19, which only served to increase his passion and enthusiasm further. Over the years he has taken thousands of photos of everything that caught his eye.

 

In 2003, he dipped his toe into digital photography, as he loved the concept of creativity and technology coming evening closer together. In realty this made the end to end process considerably smoother and easier. He continued to use both film and digital over the year, until finally choosing to move to digital completely.

 

In 2004 he was invited to a friends wedding in Scotland, and decided to document the day in his own way, with a view of giving the bride and groom a personalised gift. They loved the gift so much that they asked for copies to provide to similar gifts to their family and friends. Several guests who attended saw the work, and loved them so much they asked if he would cover their wedding day too!

 

Over the proceeding 2 years, he covered numerous weddings all from word of mouth, he studied, and again self taught himself what he needed to perfect his skills to capture those moments in a wedding day.

 

Ivory Pictures was born.....
